COMMENTS ABOUT FINRA'S STUDY GUIDE FOR THE SIE EXAM

Bob Eder has just published his Study for the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle e-book versions.

Why should you consider Bob's book helpful for the SIE Exam? Because Bob's book tries to cover every item in FINRA's Study Outline and Guide. Here is the link to FINRA's Outline.

Notice that FINRA's Outline is somewhat haphazard in listing items that you should know for the test. It is divided into four main sections, such as Section I, Knowledge of the Capital Markets. It then lists subheadings such as Regulatory Entities, Agencies and Market Participants. So far so good. But then at the end of Section I, it lists rules, lots of rules, such as FINRA Rules, MSRB Rules, SEC Rules.

We interpreted the listing of rules to mean that the SIE exam expects an applicant to be familiar with the rules as far as their content and substance.

Bob Eder's Study for the SIE Exam covers these rules individually in some depth. The question is, do other SIE study manuals do likewise? We think that knowledge of the rules will play an important role in passing the exam.

Bob Eder's book is available at Amazon in both Kindle e-book and paperback versions. Here is the link to Study for the Securities Industry Essentials Exam on Amazon.
